LOS ANGELES, April 27 (Xinhua) -- A batch of 29 satellites of Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network was sent into orbit on Monday aboard a United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V rocket.
The rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in the U.S. state of Florida at 8:53 p.m. Eastern Time (0053 GMT on Tuesday).
ULA later confirmed the successful deployment of the satellites into low Earth orbit.
The mission is part of Amazon's broader plan to deploy a constellation of more than 3,200 satellites in low Earth orbit to provide high-speed, low-latency internet services to customers and communities worldwide. ■
