GAZA, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Two Palestinians, including a child, were killed Monday in separate attacks by the Israeli army in the northern and southern Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian medical sources.
Medical sources at al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City said the hospital received the body of 15-year-old Ayham al-Omari, who was killed by Israeli army gunfire in the Beit Lahia area in northern Gaza.
In a separate incident, a 31-year-old Palestinian man was killed by the Israeli army east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, local sources said.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army on the incidents.
Meanwhile, Gaza-based health authorities said hospitals in the enclave received seven bodies and 18 wounded in the past 24 hours.
The death toll since a ceasefire came into effect on Oct. 10 has reached 817, with 2,296 injured, the authorities said. The total death toll has risen to 72,593, with 172,399 injured, since the outbreak of the war on Oct. 7, 2023. ■
