KABUL, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Three commuters lost their lives and four others sustained injuries as a car veered off the road in Helmand province, southern Afghanistan on Monday, the official news agency Bakhtar reported.
The deadly mishap took place in Khanshin district early this morning, the official media outlet said, adding all the injured persons, some in critical conditions, had been shifted to the nearby health center.
Blaming the carelessness of the driver for the fatal accident, the news agency Bakhtar, citing traffic police officials, called upon drivers to respect traffic rules and regulations when driving to avoid mishaps.
Previously, a similar mishap left one dead and injured six others in the eastern Khost province on Thursday. ■
