BAKU, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Azerbaijan's cotton fiber production increased by 16 percent year on year in the first quarter of 2026, local media reported on Saturday.
Output of cotton fiber totaled 40,924 tonnes in January-March, while inventories of finished product reserves stood at 39,731 tonnes as of April 1, Report News Agency said, citing the State Statistical Committee.
The growth builds on a strong performance in 2025, when cotton production reached 97,000 tonnes, up 33 percent from the previous year. ■
