BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Brunei recorded a total trade value of 1,132 million U.S. dollars in February 2026, according to the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics.
Brunei's official media Pelita Brunei reported on Monday that total exports were valued at 765.2 million dollars and imports at 366.8 million dollars, resulting in a trade balance surplus of 398.3 million dollars.
The major contributors to export were mineral fuels, accounting for 69.1 percent, followed by chemicals at 28.6 percent. The main export markets were Australia, accounting for 25.1 percent, followed by China and Vietnam.
For imports, the major contributors were mineral fuels at 36.8 percent, followed by machinery and transport equipment at 25.0 percent, and food at 14.0 percent.
The largest import partners were Malaysia, accounting for 24.7 percent, followed by Australia and China. ■
