WASHINGTON -- U.S. military forces continue to enforce "U.S. sanctions and fully implement the blockade against ships entering or departing Iranian ports," U.S. Central Command said on social media Saturday.
In a post on X, the U.S. Central Command said that 37 vessels have been redirected since the start of the blockade, noting a merchant vessel named Sevan, intercepted in the Arabian Sea earlier Saturday by the U.S. forces, is currently "complying with U.S. military direction to turn back to Iran under escort." TEHRAN -- Iran's main military command, Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, vowed Saturday to react if the United States continues its "blockade, banditry and piracy" in the West Asia region.
It made the announcement in a statement carried by Iranian media while pointing to the U.S. naval blockade imposed on the Strait of Hormuz, which prevents vessels traveling to and from Iranian ports from transiting the waterway, and actions against Iran-bound ships over the past few days. BOGOTA -- Seven people were killed and more than 20 others injured after a bomb attack struck the Colombian municipality of Cajibio, Cauca department, on Saturday, according to local authorities.
Local media reports said a bomb fell onto a bus on the El Tunel section of the Pan-American Highway linking Cali and Popayan. Online images show severe damage to the bus roof and windows, as well as to the highway. (Colombia-Bomb attack)
