JERUSALEM/BEIRUT, April 25 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli military said Saturday it continued striking Hezbollah targets across southern Lebanon despite an ongoing ceasefire.
In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces said the strikes hit Hezbollah's Radwan Force military facilities and a weapons storage site, aiming to remove threats to Israeli troops and civilians.
The military also said it killed six Hezbollah militants in three separate incidents in southern Lebanon on Saturday.
According to the IDF, Israeli ground forces directed an airstrike that killed two armed militants in the Litani River area. It said four other Hezbollah militants were also killed in the same Israeli-controlled zone -- three in a weapons truck and one riding a motorcycle.
The IDF said more than 15 Hezbollah militants were killed in southern Lebanon over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Lebanon's Health Ministry said four people were killed Saturday in two Israeli airstrikes targeting a truck and a motorcycle in the Nabatieh district.
Earlier in the day, Lebanon's National News Agency reported that two people were killed and 17 others were wounded in an Israeli strike on the municipality of Safad al-Battikh.
Also on Saturday, Hezbollah said it targeted an Israeli military vehicle in southern Lebanon with a drone. The IDF said two rockets were fired from Lebanon toward Israeli border villages later in the afternoon.
Lebanon's Health Ministry said the cumulative toll from Israeli attacks between March 2 and April 25 had reached 2,496 killed and 7,725 wounded.
The violence came despite a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon that took effect at midnight between April 16 and 17, following weeks of intensified cross-border fighting linked to the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran.
U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday that the current 10-day ceasefire would be extended by three weeks. ■
