BUENOS AIRES, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Enzo Copetti and Julian Fernandez scored in each half as Rosario Central secured a 2-1 away win over nine-man Estudiantes Rio Cuarto in Argentina's Apertura tournament on Friday.
Copetti put his side ahead with a sixth-minute header and Fernandez doubled the advantage with a clinical finish to the top-left corner after Angel Di Maria's through ball.
Mauro Valiente reduced the deficit from a set piece but Juan Antonini and Gonzalo Maffini were each shown red cards in the last 15 minutes, dashing any hopes of an Estudiantes comeback.
Rosario Central is now second in the 15-team Group B with 27 points, three behind leader Independiente Rivadavia, which has a game in hand. Estudiantes Rio Cuarto is last in the group with five points so far.
In other Argentine top-flight fixtures on Friday, Deportivo Riestra won 2-0 at home to Independiente, Central Cordoba held Lanus to a goalless home draw, San Lorenzo prevailed 1-0 at Platense and Racing was held to a 1-1 home draw by Barracas Central. ■
