BEIRUT/JERUSALEM, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Four people were killed on Saturday in two Israeli airstrikes targeting a truck and a motorcycle in southern Lebanon's Nabatieh district, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.

In a statement, the ministry's Emergency Operations Center said the two strikes resulted in the deaths of four citizens.

Meanwhile, two towns in Lebanon's Marjeyoun district came under Israeli artillery shelling, with no immediate reports of casualties, according to Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA).

A loud explosion was also reported in the town of Khiam in the same district, with no immediate reports of casualties.

Separately, an Israeli drone was seen flying at low altitude over Beirut's southern suburbs, the NNA reported.

Also on Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement that its air force struck ready-to-launch Hezbollah rocket launchers in three villages in southern Lebanon overnight, claiming that the launchers posed an immediate threat to its soldiers and to Israeli civilians.

According to the statement, the villages are Deir El Zahrani, Kfar Reman, and Sammaaiyeh, all north of the area controlled by the Israeli army in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli army also renewed its warning to residents in southern Lebanon not to move south of a line of villages marked on a published map or approach the Litani River area, while urging residents not to cross into or return to the affected villages.

The latest Israeli strikes came amid a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon that came into effect at midnight between April 16 and 17, following weeks of intensified cross-border fighting amid the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the current 10-day Israel-Lebanon ceasefire would be extended by three weeks.
