BEIRUT, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese Hezbollah lawmaker Ali Fayyad said on Friday that the announced three-week extension of the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel was meaningless as long as Israel continued hostile actions against Lebanon, Lebanon's National News Agency reported.
Fayyad, a member of Hezbollah's parliamentary bloc Loyalty to the Resistance, said in a statement that Israeli actions, including assassinations, shelling, gunfire, and the destruction of Lebanese border villages, undermined the value of any ceasefire.
Fayyad said the terms only bind Lebanon, not Israel, and Hezbollah "rejects" such terms. He warned that any Israeli attack would be met with an appropriate response from the resistance.
He added that without a full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory, the Lebanese people retain the right to resist occupation and restore full sovereignty. ■
