JAKARTA, April 23 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry said Thursday that the downstream investment realization for the first quarter of 2026 reached 147.5 trillion rupiahs (around 8.54 billion U.S. dollars), up 8.2 percent year-on-year.
Investment in the downstream sector accounted for 29.6 percent of the total investment realization throughout Q1 2026, which amounted to 498.8 trillion rupiahs (around 29 billion dollars).
Downstream investment was dominated by the mineral sector at 98.3 trillion rupiahs (around 5.69 billion dollars), mainly nickel, copper, and steel.
The mineral sector was followed by plantations and forestry sector as well as oil and gas sector, official data showed. ■
