BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Brunei held a tree planting and beach cleanup activity at a recreational park near Muara port town on Wednesday to celebrate 2026 Earth Day.
The initiative saw the participation of more than 100 individuals, reflecting a strong community commitment toward environmental conservation, according to the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation under Brunei's Ministry of Development.
The department said that during the event, 40 trees were planted to support greening efforts and enhance the natural landscape.
Brunei continues to take part in the global movement through initiatives that promote sustainability and environmental responsibility, according to the department. ■
