RIO DE JANEIRO, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Six members of a single family were killed on Tuesday after their car crashed head-on into a cargo truck in southeastern Brazil's Minas Gerais state, according to official sources.
The accident occurred on a highway in northern Minas Gerais. The car was heading to the northeastern state of Bahia, while the truck was traveling in the opposite direction toward the southern state of Santa Catarina, said the Federal Highway Police.
The crash left six people dead, including the driver of the car, his wife, their three children, and the children's maternal grandmother. The truck driver was unharmed. ■
