KABUL, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Afghan authorities have completed several major road construction projects in Khost city, the capital of eastern Afghanistan's Khost province, the provincial government said in a statement on Wednesday.
The projects, with a total investment exceeding 21 million afghanis (around 328,000 U.S. dollars), are designed to strengthen urban infrastructure, improve transportation conditions, and mitigate flooding risks during periods of heavy rainfall, the statement said.
The newly completed roads are expected to ease traffic flow, enhance mobility for residents, and support the delivery of more efficient public services.
Local officials and community representatives described the development as a significant step toward advancing urban growth and addressing the increasing needs of the city's population. ■
