MOSCOW, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Russia will halt Kazakh oil supplies to Germany through the Druzhba pipeline starting May 1 due to "current technical capabilities," Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said Wednesday.
Novak said volumes of Kazakh oil previously delivered to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline will be redirected to other available logistics routes.
Earlier in the day, Kazakh Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov confirmed the suspension of Kazakh oil transit to Germany via Russia through the Druzhba pipeline. ■
