CHANGSHA, April 22 (Xinhua) -- The Heimifeng environmental protection park is a large-scale comprehensive environmental protection industrial park located in Wangcheng District of Changsha City. The park's daily processing capacity of household waste reaches 10,000 tonnes and that of sludge is 1,000 tonnes. Through waste incineration, the park generates over 1.7 billion kilowatt-hours of green electricity annually and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by over 1.2 million tonnes each year.

In addition, as a base for ecological environment science popularization and education in the province, since 2021, the park has received more than 40,000 visitors on public open days, popularizing knowledge about garbage classification and solid waste utilization among the public.
