KABUL, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's National Disaster Management Authority has signed five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with leading domestic and international partners over the past month, the authority announced Tuesday.
The agreements focus on enhancing disaster risk reduction, delivering urgent assistance to affected communities, conducting nationwide public awareness campaigns, and implementing long-term measures to mitigate the impact of natural hazards across the country, said the authority.
Afghanistan is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world. ■
