TBILISI, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Georgia earned 829.8 million U.S. dollars from international tourism in the first quarter of 2026, a 0.5-percent increase from a year earlier, the National Bank of Georgia reported Tuesday.
The European Union was the biggest contributor and recorded the sharpest rise, accounting for 17.0 percent of the total or 140.7 million dollars -- up 36.4 percent year-on-year.
Türkiye generated 120.1 million dollars in revenue, up 12.2 percent, followed by Ukraine at 45.3 million dollars, up 34.2 percent.
Revenues from Israel dropped 13.4 percent to 98.9 million dollars amid tensions in the Middle East, while those from Russia fell 12.3 percent to 124.3 million dollars. ■
