JERUSALEM, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Israel on Sunday announced a direct flight route between Tel Aviv and Buenos Aires.
The announcement was made during a joint press conference by visiting Argentine President Javier and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The route will be operated by El Al, Israel's national carrier, and would be its longest direct flight yet.
The two leaders also signed bilateral cooperation agreements, including an aviation deal.
Netanyahu said the move is part of efforts to strengthen ties between the two countries, including cooperation in the fields of economy, technology, security and tourism. ■
