KUALA LUMPUR, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed in a shooting at a restaurant in Kota Tinggi, Johor state in southern Malaysia on Sunday afternoon, and police have arrested a male suspect, Johor police confirmed on Sunday.
The three victims include two men and one woman, according to Johor police chief Comm Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad. The suspect was apprehended at the scene, and a gun was seized.
Preliminary investigations have ruled out any links to organized crime or terrorism, though personal debt issues have not been excluded as a possible motive. The case remains under further investigation, and police said a follow-up statement will be issued. ■
