IMF projects Ukraine's economy to grow 2 pct in 2026

KIEV, April 16 (Xinhua) -- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected that Ukraine's GDP will grow by 2 percent this year, up from 1.8 percent in 2025, the Interfax-Ukraine news agency has reported, citing the fund's latest forecast.

According to the IMF's World Economic Outlook, Ukraine's inflation rate is expected to ease to 7.5 percent this year from 8 percent in 2025. Meanwhile, the current account deficit is projected to widen to 18.9 percent of the GDP in 2026 compared with 15 percent in the previous year.

The unemployment rate in Ukraine is forecast to decline to 10.2 percent in 2026 from 11.6 percent last year.
