HONG KONG, April 16 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6 jolted south of the Kermadec Islands at 1330 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 32.21 degrees south latitude and 178.05 degrees west longitude. ■
