ISLAMABAD, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's Foreign Office said on Thursday that Lebanon is part of the ongoing ceasefire process and is being viewed in that context.
"Positive signs over the past two days on the Israel-Lebanon border front are encouraging," Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said during a weekly press briefing here.
He stressed that peace in Lebanon and an end to armed hostilities are essential, adding that de-escalation could help advance the negotiation process.
The spokesperson noted that the nuclear issue is also among the key topics under discussion.
Pakistan reiterated its call for restraint and the peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue. ■
