JERUSALEM, April 14 (Xinhua) -- The number of tourists visiting Israel in March fell to 9,400 due to the war with Iran, according to data released Tuesday by Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics.
For comparison, 100,700 tourists visited Israel in March last year, while 115,900 visited in February this year, the final day of which coincided with the outbreak of the war.
Meanwhile, the number of foreign airlines resuming flights to Israel since a ceasefire was declared on April 8 rose to three on Tuesday. Greece's Blue Bird Airways, which resumed operations on Sunday, was joined by Cyprus' TUS Airways and Uzbekistan Airways, with flights landing at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv.
Etihad Airways of the United Arab Emirates is expected to be the next carrier to resume service, with two flights from Abu Dhabi scheduled for Wednesday. ■
