SINGAPORE, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Singapore and Brunei have agreed to boost energy cooperation and strengthen supply chain resilience amid rising global challenges, including the escalating conflict in the Middle East, Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said Tuesday.

In a Facebook post, Wong said he held a phone call with Brunei's Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah. They discussed both countries' responses to the worsening geopolitical situation.

"As close and trusted partners, we will continue to stay open, keep essential trade and supply lines flowing, and support one another," he said, adding that officials from both countries will follow up on the initiatives discussed.
