LIMA, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Peru's electoral authority ordered an additional day of voting on Monday at several polling stations in Lima after delays prevented some voters from casting ballots in Sunday's general election.
The National Elections Board said voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time at 13 centers, covering more than 52,000 voters across 187 voting tables.
The move aims to guarantee voting rights after logistical problems delayed the delivery of election materials, preventing some polling stations from opening on time Sunday.
Meanwhile, vote counting from Sunday's election is ongoing, with results being released gradually.
More than 27 million Peruvians were eligible to vote in the election for president, vice presidents and members of Congress. ■
