ABU DHABI, April 14 (Xinhua) -- The President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday met with visiting European Council President Antonio Costa to discuss regional developments and their broader implications, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The two sides exchanged views on the evolving regional situation and its international impact on areas such as maritime security, energy supplies, and the global economy.
They also condemned recent attacks targeting civilian facilities in the UAE and other countries in the region, noting that such acts violate international law and undermine regional stability.
Costa expressed the European Council's support for the UAE and regional countries in their efforts to safeguard security and stability.
The two sides also reviewed UAE-EU relations and agreed to advance negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and a Strategic Partnership Agreement, while expanding mutually beneficial cooperation. ■
