JERUSALEM, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar said on Tuesday that his country is keen to achieve peace and normalization with Lebanon during direct negotiations set to begin later that day in Washington.
Sa'ar made the remarks at a press conference in Jerusalem alongside visiting Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Petr Macinka.
"Israel and Lebanon don't have any major disputes between them. The problem is Hezbollah, and this is the issue we must address," Sa'ar said.
He insisted that Hezbollah be disarmed as a precondition for establishing peaceful ties.
Sa'ar also said that any potential agreement with Iran must explicitly prohibit "uranium enrichment on Iranian soil." ■
