TEHRAN, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Deputy Interior Minister for Political Affairs Ali Zeinivand said on Monday the country has no serious concern regarding security along its land and sea borders.
"There is no serious concern along the country's western, northwestern, southwestern, eastern, southeastern as well as maritime borders," Zeinivand, also the ministry spokesman, said at a press conference in Tehran.
He said border security is ensured by two military headquarters established in northwestern and southeastern Iran, which concentrate forces for precise, in-depth control over and beyond the frontiers.
People's lives and aiding those affected by the war are the Iranian government's top priority, Zeinivand said, adding that there are no issues with goods supply or internal management across the provinces.
On Feb. 28, Israel and the United States launched joint attacks on Tehran and several other Iranian cities, killing Iran's then Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, along with senior military commanders and civilians. Iran responded with waves of missile and drone strikes targeting Israel and U.S. assets in the Middle East.
A two-week ceasefire between Iran and the United States took effect on Wednesday, followed by the holding of lengthy talks between the Iranian and U.S. delegations in Pakistan's capital Islamabad, which failed to lead to an agreement. ■
