TEHRAN, April 11 (Xinhua) -- In-person negotiations between Iranian and U.S. technical teams in Pakistan have ended, with the two sides exchanging written texts, Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency reported Saturday.

The technical talks followed a meeting between senior officials, the report said. It added that after two rounds of discussions, a third round of Iran-U.S. talks is scheduled for Saturday night.

Separately, the semi-official Mehr News Agency reported that significant differences remain between the two sides. Citing a source close to the negotiating team, it said "unreasonable demands" are still preventing agreement on a framework.

The report added that the Iranian delegation is insisting on its demands and conditions to "consolidate the military achievements it has made."

Delegations from Iran and the United States are in Islamabad for talks aimed at easing tensions in the Middle East following a ceasefire reached earlier this week after more than a month of fighting.

Separately, Masoud Pezeshkian said Saturday that Iran's delegation to the talks is a "staunch guardian" of the country's interests.

In a post on the social media platform X, Pezeshkian said Iranian and U.S. delegations have been holding intensive negotiations in Islamabad aimed at easing regional tensions.

"The high-ranking Iranian delegation that has arrived in Pakistan is a staunch guardian of Iran's interests with all its might, and in this vein, it will engage in negotiations with courage," he wrote.

He added that government services would continue regardless of the outcome of the talks. "Our service to the people will not pause for a moment, and whatever the outcome of the negotiations may be, the government stands firmly by the people's side," he said.
