BAGHDAD, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Iraq's paramilitary Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) said on Friday that about 80 members were killed and 270 others wounded in U.S.-Israeli strikes in Iraq between Feb. 28 and April 8.

The PMF said in earlier statements that its headquarters and positions nationwide have come under near-daily bombardment since late February.

During this period, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella body for Iraq's pro-Iranian militias, said it had launched hundreds of operations targeting U.S. interests in Iraq and the region.

The U.S. and Israel jointly launched strikes on Iran on Feb. 28, to which Iran and its regional allies responded with attacks on Israeli and U.S. interests across the Middle East.

A two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran took effect on Wednesday, with peace talks scheduled to begin later this week in Islamabad, Pakistan.
