PHNOM PENH, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia exported products worth 8.09 billion U.S. dollars in the first quarter of 2026, a year-on-year rise of 17.7 percent, said a General Department of Customs and Excise's report released on Friday.

The top five export destinations for the Southeast Asian country are the United States, Vietnam, Japan, China, and Spain, the report said.

Meanwhile, the kingdom recorded the total import of 8.83 billion dollars during the January-March period this year, up 16.7 percent compared to the same period last year, the report added.

Ministry of Commerce's Secretary of State and Spokesperson Penn Sovicheat said the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and Cambodia's bilateral free trade agreements (FTAs) with China, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates had boosted the kingdom's export growth.

"These regional and bilateral trade pacts have served as a catalyst for our long-term and sustainable export growth, as they provide preferential tariffs for made-in-Cambodia products," he told Xinhua.
