MOSCOW, April 10 (Xinhua) -- A total of 375 cases of acute intestinal infection have been registered in Murom district of Russia's Vladimir region, local authorities said Friday.
The regional government said the cases include 188 children and 187 adults. Among them, 32 children and 38 adults have been hospitalized, all in moderate condition, while over 200 people are receiving outpatient treatment.
Russia's consumer safety watchdog is investigating the cause of the outbreak, including testing water samples, said Nelly Zinovieva, acting minister of health of the region.
Vaccination against hepatitis A has begun, and additional vaccine supplies are expected next week, she added. ■
