MANAMA, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Bahrain's civil aviation authority on Wednesday announced the reopening of the country's airspace after a temporary closure imposed as a precautionary measure amid regional tensions.
In a statement, the Civil Aviation Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the smooth operation of air traffic with the highest safety and security standards.
Bahrain had closed its airspace at the start of the U.S.-Israel-Iran conflict on Feb. 28, and the reopening came after a ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran took effect on early Wednesday. ■
