KATHMANDU, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Nepal's former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former home minister Ramesh Lekhak have been released on the condition that they are present whenever needed, police said on Thursday.
They have been handed over to their families, Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson at the District Police Range Kathmandu, told Xinhua.
Oli and Lekhak were released following a Supreme Court verdict on Monday, which asked the government to conclude the investigations against them by Thursday or release them. They were arrested on March 28 for their alleged involvement in suppressing the Gen Z protest in September 2025. ■
