JERUSALEM, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Hezbollah was firing barrages of rockets on northern Israel on Thursday, after Israel's largest attack on Lebanon during this war killed more than 200 people, including the secretary of the group's leader.
At least ten barrages of rockets were reported by the Home Front Command since the early morning hours. The attacks triggered sirens in northern communities near the Lebanon border.
Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service said that no casualties have been reported.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the rockets, saying in a statement that they were a "response to the enemy's violation of the ceasefire agreement." ■
