JERUSALEM, April 8 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli military announced on Wednesday night an easing of the wartime restrictions on civilians, including the reopening of schools in most of the country starting Thursday.
Under the new guidelines, published by the Home Front Command, schools will reopen in most areas of the country, for the first time in over a month.
Restrictions on large gatherings remain in northern Israel and in regions near the Lebanese border.
Full activity of the Ben Gurion Airport, Israel's main international hub, will resume starting midnight, the Transportation Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday night. Activity in the smaller Ramon Airport in the south will resume on Sunday.
Meanwhile, El Al, Israel's national carrier, said it is preparing to resume full operations and flights to 30 destinations after running a limited schedule, carrying about 50 passengers per flight for most of the war. ■
