TEHRAN, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Iran will continue to distrust its enemies and its armed forces and missile capabilities are still ready to defend and support the country, Fatemeh Mohajerani, Iranian government spokesperson, said on Wednesday in a televised interview cited by Mehr News agency.
She praised the powerful Iranian armed forces in the battle against the United States and Israel, terming it "a strategic victory for the people."
"We repeat that whoever started the war ultimately lost," she said, adding that the Strait of Hormuz "is still the responsibility of Iran."
On Tuesday, the United States and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire. The two sides are scheduled to begin negotiations in Islamabad, capital of Pakistan, on Friday. ■
