TEHRAN, April 8 (Xinhua) -- An explosion was reported Wednesday at Iran's Lavan refinery, with the source of the blast unknown, Iran's Mehr News Agency said.
The report added that multiple explosions were heard on Wednesday morning at the Lavan refinery and on Sirri Island, hours after a ceasefire between the United States and Iran was announced.
No details on the scale or cause of the blasts were immediately available, and no party has claimed responsibility.
"Any aggression against the country will be met with a regret-inducing response," Mehr quoted an Iranian armed forces source as saying.
On Tuesday, the United States and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire. ■
