BEIRUT, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Large-scale Israeli airstrikes on Beirut killed and wounded scores of people and prompted hospitals in the Lebanese capital to appeal for blood donations of all types, local media reported.
The Israeli military said on Wednesday it had completed "the largest coordinated strike across Lebanon" since the start of the regional conflict, hours after a U.S.-Iran truce came into effect. ■
