TEHRAN, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Critical facilities, infrastructure, and docks on Iran's southern Kharg Island have not been harmed after Tuesday morning's U.S.-Israeli attacks, the semi-official Mehr news agency reported.

The island's maritime network, docks, and other operational areas continue to function without disruption, and services are running normally, it said.

Mehr quoted informed sources as saying that all necessary security measures on the island are in place and the general situation is stable.

Several explosions were heard in Kharg Island on Tuesday, resulting from multiple attacks by the United States and Israel, Mehr reported earlier in the day.

On Feb. 28, Israel and the United States launched joint attacks on Tehran and several other Iranian cities, killing Iran's then Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, along with senior military commanders and civilians. Iran responded by launching waves of missile and drone strikes targeting Israel and U.S. bases and assets in the Middle East.
