KABUL, April 7 (Xinhua) -- At least 13 people have been killed and 19 others injured following heavy rains in eastern Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, the official Bakhtar news agency reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, the casualties occurred after intense rainfall struck multiple districts starting last week, triggering floods and related incidents. The figures are preliminary and could change as assessment teams continue to collect information from affected areas.
Emergency response teams have been deployed to assist victims and evaluate the extent of the damage. ■
