ABU DHABI, April 5 (Xinhua) -- United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Sunday to discuss regional developments, maritime security, energy supplies, and their impact on the global economy, according to the Emirates News Agency.
The talks, held during Meloni's visit to the UAE, addressed ongoing attacks targeting the UAE and other countries in the region, including strikes on civilian infrastructure, which the two sides said violate sovereignty, international law, and the UN Charter.
Meloni condemned the attacks, expressed solidarity with the UAE, and affirmed support for measures taken to safeguard the country's security, sovereignty, and the safety of its people.
The leaders also reviewed bilateral cooperation, particularly in economic and development fields, and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties. ■
