ISTANBUL, April 4 (Xinhua) -- A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck Türkiye's eastern province of Van on Saturday, according to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
The earthquake struck at 8:52 a.m. local time (0552 GMT) in the Tusba district at a depth of 7 kilometers, according to AFAD. Several aftershocks with magnitudes of around 5 were also reported.
The earthquake was felt across neighboring provinces, causing brief panic among residents who rushed out of their homes into the streets, according to local media reports. ■
