LONDON -- A virtual meeting on the Strait of Hormuz hosted by Britain on Thursday called for "the immediate and unconditional reopening of the Strait," signaling increased diplomatic pressure and coordinated sanctions on Iran.
According to a statement issued after the meeting, representatives from over 40 countries, as well as international organisations including the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and the European Union, attended the meeting convened by British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper. TEHRAN -- At least eight civilians were killed and 95 others wounded in U.S. and Israeli attacks on a bridge in Iran's northern Alborz province on Thursday, the official news agency IRNA reported.

MEXICO CITY -- At least three people were killed and one seriously injured when a small aircraft crashed Thursday in Huejotzingo in central Mexican state of Puebla, authorities said.
