WASHINGTON, April 3 (Xinhua) -- A search and recovery mission is underway for the crew of a U.S. fighter jet shot down in Iran, the first known loss of a jet inside the country since the start of the war, U.S. media reported Friday.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed Friday that it had downed a U.S. F-35 fighter jet, saying it was "completely destroyed and crashed."
The Pentagon did not immediately respond to the reports. ■
