RIO DE JANEIRO, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Jose Florentin and Leonel Bucca scored in each half as Independiente Rivadavia underlined its title credentials with a 2-0 away win over Tigre in Argentina's Apertura tournament on Thursday.
The visitors went ahead just before the half hour when Florentin controlled Sebastian Villa's pass before sending a low finish into the far corner.
Villa was again the provider in the 83rd minute, delivering an inch-perfect cross for Bucca, who tapped home from inside the six-yard box.
Tigre had several chances to score but could not find a way past goalkeeper Nicolas Bolcato, who made five saves.
The result leaves Independiente Rivadavia six points clear at the top of Group B with 26 points from 12 games while Tigre is seventh, nine points further back.
Elsewhere, Junior Marabel and Carlos Villalba struck first-half goals as Sarmiento edged to a 2-1 away win over Barracas Central. Sarmiento is now ninth in Group B, trailing Barracas on goal difference. ■
