BERLIN, April 3 (Xinhua) -- With the UEFA Champions League match against Real coming up next Tuesday evening, Bayern Munich is busy dealing with the temporary loss of Harry Kane.
The 32-year-old striker will miss the Bavarians' league match against Freiburg this Saturday, but remains an option for the first leg of the last-8-round against the Spanish giant in Madrid.
"I am rather positive regarding Tuesday, but Freiburg comes too early. It's not nice not to have him around," coach Vincent Kompany said.
While the reigning German Champions announced the return of their keepers, Manuel Neuer and Jonas Urbig, midfielder Alex Pavlovic, the full-backs Alphonso Davies and Josip Stanisic, and striker Jamal Musiala to regular training, Kane missed sessions on Thursday and Friday.
The Three-Lions captain, suffering from ankle issues, went through a light session on a bicycle ergometer at the club's fitness center while the team was in action without him.
Kompany spoke about "good training" for Kane until Sunday with England's squad, "then he felt something in his ankle."
The spearhead had missed the Three Lions friendlies against Uruguay and Japan.
Kompany emphasized Kane's value to the 2020 treble-winning team but said he has several other options.
"We can play with two strikers or two tens," the 39-year-old said.
The Bayern coach claimed that Freiburg comes first, but admitted that the Real games are on everyone's mind.
"For sure, players have talked about this in the recent international break," the former Citizen defender said.
He announced that keeping the team's routines ahead of games is "providing stability."
Despite Bayern's efforts to revitalize their key player, losing the Englishman would represent a setback.
In nine Champions League encounters, Kane scored 10 goals aside from his two assists.
While Bayern seems to be on its way to break the 101-goal record from the 1971/72 season (currently 97 goals), Kane might fail in his hunt for the 2020/21 league season record of Robert Lewandowski (41).
With seven rounds of matches remaining in the current season, Kane stands at 31 in 26 league games and 48 goals across all competitions.
In Freiburg, Serge Gnabry is expected to cover the box, while young player Lennart Karl might be seen in the number ten role.
The Bavarians announce that Kane is undergoing further treatment while trying to catch up with individual training. ■
