JAKARTA, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia recorded a trade surplus of 1.27 billion U.S. dollars in February 2026, with exports reaching 22.17 billion dollars and imports totaling 20.89 billion dollars, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) said on Wednesday.

BPS Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics Ateng Hartono told a press conference in Jakarta that the country's export value in February this year increased by 1.01 percent year on year, driven mainly by the non-oil and gas sector.

He added that exports from the manufacturing industry rose by 5.24 percent compared to the same period last year, contributing 4.21 percent to overall export growth. The performance reflected steady demand for Indonesia's processed industrial products in global markets despite ongoing economic uncertainties.

On the import side, Hartono said that import value grew by 10.85 percent year on year, largely driven by non-oil and gas imports, which contributed 15.47 percent to the total increase.
