ISLAMABAD, April 1 (Xinhua) -- At least three people, including two women and a child, were killed and three others injured when a passenger jeep plunged into a ravine in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, rescue officials said on Wednesday.
The accident occurred on Tuesday in Chitral district as the vehicle was traveling from Buni to Kosht. It fell into a deep gorge near Janali Koch Ziarat area, a spokesperson for Rescue 1122 said.
Rescue teams reached the site and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.
Two women died at the scene, while a child succumbed to injuries at the hospital, a Rescue 1122 spokesperson told Xinhua. Three others, including a woman, were injured, while two children remained unharmed.
Authorities said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident. ■
